You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Technical Division, Lifting and Handling Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will assist engineers in the design of crane electrical, structural, and mechanical systems. You will prepare preliminary studies, sketches, and record drawings for specific instructions or notes provided by the supervisor branch engineer. You will review contracts, specifications, and shop drawings for completeness of scope or compliance requirements. You will provide progress and status reports on branch work, and contractor performance involving crane maintenance, repair, overhaul and procurement projects.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
