You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Maritime Electronic Warfare Systems Division (WXM), Spectrum Warfare Systems Department (WX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).

Duties

You will serve as the Mechanical Lab Lead for the System Sustainment Branch in the Maritime Electromagnetic Warfare Division. You will utilize knowledge of Heat Exchangers utilized in the AN/SLQ-32 Variants, as well as the coordination of repairs and fabrication on these units through the Navy Supply System and Naval Supply Systems (NAVSUP). You will also lead efforts related to NULKA thermal battery replacements. You will also help facilitate advanced manufacturing within the Division.

  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
  • You will perform work in a lab environment.
  • You must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • You will be required to wear steel toe shoes, and hearing protection as applicable.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing leadership and guidance in support of Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to advance EW system maintainability, survivability, and supportability within the Fleet.
