The primary purpose of this position is: Manages the Commander's major engagement planning, coordination, and event execution including but not limited to the Antares USSPACECOM to U.S. Space Force commander engagement series and USSPACECOM's premier Commanders Conference.
Duties
Plans and establishes activities for key routine and expected engagements throughout the year in direct support to the CAG Director in Commander USSPACECOM major commitments.
Leads the Command in the coordination and implementation of Commander-directed critical engagements.
Direct the execution of the event guiding and leveraging the support elements, including other CAG and J0 support offices, to ensure an effective and efficient outcome.
Provides "surge" support to other CAG functions.

- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force,
- Cont. national security, and public safety. Therefore, incumbent is required to: (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and misuse of prescription medication, and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing on short notice
- Cont. Incumbent must pass initial and may be selected for random drug testing. May be subject to reasonable suspicion testing and safety mishap or accident testing
- The employee may be required to work overtime or uncommon tour of duty hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. May be subject to off-duty hours on-call, particularly during special events and emergencies
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station in performance of temporary duty assignment (TDY) to include travelling on military or commercial aircraft
- Position is eligible for telework on a regular and reoccurring or situational basis while requiring occasional visits to duty location based on the mission directive and discretion of the supervisor. A telework agreement must be signed
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes : (1) knowledge of military command structure; USSPACECOM's mission, goals and objectives, and organization; the sequence and timing of key events and milestones; and of the various Command entities and their associated mission/area of responsibility; (2) knowledge of duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of the organization sufficient to perform nonroutine assignments, such as independently noting and following-up on commitments made at meetings/conferences; (3) advising others on preparing correspondence, requirements for various reports, and interpreting new instructions and procedures; or locating and summarizing information from files and documents that requires recognizing which information is or is not relevant to the problem at hand; (4) managing events involving senior military, civilian, government, industry, and/or international partners senior leadership.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of Joint military command structures, organizational relationships, and combatant command missions and objectives.
2. Knowledge of project management methods, techniques, and practices, with special emphasis on versatility and speed.
3. Skill in oral and written communication; communicates clearly, concisely, and with accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Skill in staff level planning, organizing, and overseeing critical aspects of key Commander engagements; ability to adapt to situational offsets.
5. Ability to balance a high profile workload, prioritize key products, and react quickly to produce critical alterations and routing.
6. Ability to maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues to achieve effective and timely outcomes.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
