You will ensure that flight operations are accomplished in a professional manner to maximize the fulfillment of NASA's Aeronautics, Science and Space Goals. You will schedule flights and coordinate with maintenance, range, aircrew, and outside agencies for daily, weekly and longer-range flight activity. You will acts as a central point of contact for Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) operations.
Duties
Ensures that flight operations are accomplished in a professional manner to maximize the fulfillment of NASA's Aeronautics, Science and Space Goals.
Schedules flights and coordinates with maintenance, range, aircrew, and outside agencies for daily, weekly and longer range flight activity.
Ensures NASA and Armstrong processes and regulations are followed to effect safe flight operations.
Maintains scheduling and aircrew currency database/records.
Maintains communications with airborne aircraft in the event of aircraft emergency.
Provides flight hour data to HQ and projects for accounting purposes.
Maintains central point of contact for Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) flight operations.
Directs work tasks for contractor flight management specialists.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-11, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level
Collecting and compiling data or information about an organization to support a variety of administrative functions;
Scheduling of range and other test support assets and flight operations in a research or test environment;
Maintaining aircrew records and databases;
OR
b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field
OR
c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree in an appropriate field
OR
d) LL.M., if related
OR
e) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b), c) and d) above
