About the Position: The instructor position develops various training courses with curriculums ranging from basic instruction concepts to advanced technical procedures involving the use and operation of complex medical and support equipment within a field or combat zone environment. Instructing on procedures involving the assembling/erecting/ and/or connecting of Tent Extendable, Modular, Personnel and International Standardization, Organization (ISO) Shelters.

Duties

Instruct student on assembly of Air-supported Tent (AIRBEAM) tents for deployment/field clinics. Instruct on medical equipment needed for International Standardization Organization (ISO) Shelters. Instructed student on proper setup of medical equipment for field/deployment operations. Develop medical course curriculum for proper use and operation of complex medical and support equipment. Instruct in the use of specialized equipment to be used within a medical facility. Observe training exercises to provide on the spot correction and assistance to students.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This work requires a valid government vehicle operator's license and a State of Texas Commercial Operator's Permit.
• Pre-employment physical is required.
• This position requires heavy lifting (in excess of 45 lbs).
• The position may require employee to wear protective equipment e.g. respirators, safety glasses, etc.
• This position may require the employee to travel 10% of the time.

OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Medical Education. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
