You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in the Radar Technologies Division (WXP), Spectrum Warfare Systems Dept (WX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).

Duties

You will be responsible for execution of tasking, administration, planning, coordination, training and development of branch employees for the Antenna Systems Sustainment Section. You will ensure personnel have performance expectations that are well defined, documented, and communicated to encourage technical and professional growth. You will lead technicians involved in performing maintenance, overhaul, troubleshooting, and testing of multiple Navy radar systems, subsystems, and components. You will lead data driven production meetings on a regular basis to ensure affective planning, corrective action, and risk management. You will prepare bi-weekly production status reports and metrics in support of Division Management and Program Offices. You will ensure long term branch goals align with Division, Department, and Command strategic goals.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will work generally within office spaces, with occasional needs to be in lab and high-bay spaces.
  • You must be able to climb ladders on a US Navy ship and efficiently move about a US Navy ship.
  • You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering leadership and guidance to manage electronic system projects involving maintenance and repair, overhaul, or testing of radar systems, subsystems, and components to support technological advancement and sustainment of the fleet.
