You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (APPSW) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION, CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.
Duties
You will perform software development, quality assurance and assessment on local and enterprise level applications.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the software development life cycle from functional requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, documenting, and deployment.
You will create technical documentation including software design document, risk assessment/mitigation, test plan, test cases, and software architecture.
You will act as a technical lead on projects and determine and/or execute actions for a wide range of assignments involving a combination of complex features.
You will perform a range of system development efforts, from preparing written technical functional requirements/specs to design/architecture, assess cyber security, and performing unit testing to ensure compliance with functional requirements.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is a Cyber Workforce position. You will support Department of Navy policies, for work role Software Developer proficiency level Intermediate within 9 months of appointment.
- You must obtain and maintain qualifications in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing customer and software system requirements to plan the design and development of application prototypes and user interfaces for an organization.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
