About the Position: The Program Executive Office, Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS) is responsible for providing world-class affordable, relevant and sustainable ground combat vehicles to Joint Warfighters. With a focus on developing current and future systems, PEO GCS is leading the production and management of all combat vehicles for the Army.
Duties
Develops logistic plans to assure integration of various logistic functions in support of assigned vehicles/projects.
Assures execution of plans with responsibility for integration of all functions and special emphasis in the areas of supply and maintenance programs and plans.
Identifies new program requirements and provides for the development of plans for integration with current mission.
Participates in development of basic budgetary requirements for adequate logistics support of assigned systems.
Evaluates and coordinates effort of functional specialist to identify specific requirements and to develop and adjust plans and schedules to meet each requirement as scheduled.
Manages a comprehensive program of logistical support.
Provides management direction to ensure that separate programs are integrated, fully coordinated and effectively implemented to attain desired goals.
Furnishes technical advice on the adequacy and/or feasibility of recommendations and approve changes for resolution of problems.
Represents Project Managers Office at conferences or meetings with representatives of AMC, DA, other services, foreign countries and private industry.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectee must meet position requirements for foundational certification in (L) Life Cycle Logistics within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
- This is a Non-Key Security Cooperation (SC) position based on the duties and responsibilities. The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience your resume must describe one year of specialized experience at the NH-02 level in the Federal Service that includes the ability to: (1) Providing logistic support during all phases of the acquisition life cycle for one or more major complex vehicle systems; (2) Executing logistics plans to assure integration of logistics elements (i.e. acquisition and production, comptroller, technical/product assurance); (3) Monitoring program execution and contractor performance to assure compliance with milestones and contract terms; (4) Coordinating logistics activities for vehicles under project/product management to effectively issue and track material requisitions in support of fielding and production; (5) Identifying and resolve complex problems to lessen the impact on cost, schedule, performance and/or other logistics support requirements; and (6) Resolving customer supply issues through knowledge and utilization of DoD automated logistics systems such as LMP (processing Materiel Release Orders, purchase requisitions and checking stock availability), I2Log (demand history, demand history, and materiel consumption rates).
The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalent).
