About the Position: Serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Advertising and Public Affairs (A&AP) Division of the United States Army Recruiting Command. Incumbent serves as the Brigade Point of Contact for Total Army Involvement in Recruiting (TAIR) program.

Duties

Organizes events to disseminate information about existing recruitment programs and activities. Analyze market data to determine the effectiveness of informational materials. Manages the budget requirements of a program by creating budget projections and allocating funds. Maintain an advertising audio-visual library to assure availability of resources for future recruiting and/ or publicity events. Oversees a public relations program (i.e. The Total Army Involvement Recruiting Program) to help reach and influence the primary recruiting audience. Prepare a variety of reports related to public affairs programs within organization (i.e., Total Army Involvement in Recruiting (TAIR) program). Conduct annual station inspections of Public Affairs programs. Modify advertisement material to meet requirements of promotional programs within assigned organization.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) applying modern industry techniques to create multimedia content; (2) utilizing social media to monitor publicity for events; (3) utilizing an automated systems to prepare a variety of reports; and (4) maintaining a schedule of public affairs related events for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Marketing, Advertising, or Communications. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.
