You will serve as a EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the LOGISTICS PRODUCT DATA DIVISION, AVIATION READINESS & RESOURCE ANALYSIS DEPT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will be responsible for developing, editing, validating, verifying, publishing and maintaining the technical publications. You will perform weapons, handling, and maintenance publication validation and verification. You will review program Integrated Logistics Support documents for technical equipment inputs. You will ensure implementation of all applicable standards and regulations per program weapon requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DS-03) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Developing, documenting, and implementing processes which interface with project management, requirements management, and quality assurance processes; 2) Conceiving, planning, and monitoring documentation for weapons and/or weapon systems; 3) Utilizing software programs to manage technical data products and maintain accurate records; 4) Assessing program technical publication needs and implementing appropriate policies, processes and tools; and 5) Ensuring technical accuracy and technical adequacy of required logistics documentation. DS-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DS-02) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Assisting in developing, documenting, and implementing processes which interface with project management, requirements management, and quality assurance processes; 2) Assisting in conceiving, planning, and monitoring documentation for weapons and/or weapon systems; 3) Utilizing software programs to assist in managing technical data products and maintain accurate records; and 4) Assisting in evaluating and reporting on contractor configuration and data management systems. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

DS-04:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related

DS-03:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
