About the Position: Fort Drum, is located in Northern New York, a historically unique area, offering ample outdoor recreational opportunities of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.

Duties

Manage the installation Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) facility. Plan, schedule, and coordinate support from multiple installation staff agencies for each different type of Soldier Readiness Processing. Prepare Temporary Change of Station orders and amendments for deploying Soldiers. Review and recommend procedural changes to any administrative phase of readiness processing and final validation. Serve as an alternate Contracting Officer's Representative. Serve as the primary action officer for personnel related operation orders and contingency plans that support the installation and directorate.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • This position MAY require working nights, weekends and holidays.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations you will be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing doctrine, regulations, standards, policies, or procedures applicable to deployment or emergency operations, unit readiness and training to support deployment readiness operations; 2) Coordinating with activities such as medical, legal, logistical, and records management to ensure administrative aspects of personnel deployment requirements are completed; 3) Utilizing and updating automated personnel systems such as Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), Interactive Personnel Records Management System (iPERMS), and Integrative Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) to verify information contained in personnel records prior to deployment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR GS-09 Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources. OR GS-09 Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing military human resources automated systems in support of military personnel programs pertaining to Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP); 2) Interpreting current or proposed policies for assigned military actions programs and providing guidance; 3) Utilizing military personnel principles, concepts, laws and systems to apply the new laws to rectify problem areas in programs and operations; 4) Assisting with planning, coordinating, and integrating installation staff agencies to execute an efficient and effective installation level Soldier Readiness Processing program. 5) Assisting with planning, coordinating, and integrating Emergency Management programs and operations for the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR GS-11 Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources. OR GS-11 Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
