About the Position: This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Receive telephone calls and visitors to the office and provide requested information for routine matters based upon knowledge of group activities, procedures, and requirements; and/or refers inquiry to proper staff member for appropriate action.
Arrange appointments, meetings or conferences including selecting mutually satisfactory times and dates, reserving meeting facilities, and notifying participants of time and place utilizing Microsoft Outlook.
Process Travel Vouchers and serves as the technical point of contact for all travel voucher preparation, guidance, and travel voucher status.
Serve as the primary time and attendance processor for the Academics Affair and alternate time and attendance liaison for the organization.
Provide oversight for the organization's Records Management program and file plan system while also providing guidance and assistance to staff on requirements and corrections.

- The work of the position requires the skills of a qualified typist.

Basic Requirements for Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) GS-0303-07:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performing administrative duties within a healthcare setting; utilizing healthcare office automation software to complete assigned tasks; and preparing a variety of reports for management (i.e. meeting minutes, charts, statistical data, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
