The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisory and managerial authorities over the assigned Element; providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Element's work center, Materiel Management Section, Logistics Branch, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Lackland TX.

Duties

Plans, organizes, and oversees the Element's activities. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents the Logistics Branch with a variety of division and functional area organizations. Plans and directs logistics action required to support assigned mission areas.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to SCI, other Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Special Access Programs to perform the duties of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, principles, methods, procedures and other guidance related to various functions of life-cycle logistics support; and understanding of the interrelationships of the various functions; knowledge of agency programming, planning, funding and management information systems; and understanding of the specialized needs of the programs or operational areas supported. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, principles, methods, procedures and other guidance related to various functions of life-cycle logistics support; and understanding of the interrelationships of the various functions. 2. In-depth knowledge of the organization and understanding of the serialized needs of the programs or operational areas supported. 3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. 4. Broad, comprehensive knowledge of agency programming, planning, funding, and management information systems. 5. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate acquisition and/or sustainment mission information and to evaluate options concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned supply/logistics operations. 6. Ability to communicate effectively with others (both orally and in writing) and to work effectively (with groups and individuals) in planning efforts and in working out solutions to complex problems or questions. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
