Duties
You will support senior Equipment Specialists in planning ‘self-help’ projects at the command that require wiring and/or cabling and assist in the planning for installation requirements for all communications, electronic equipment, and systems.
You will assist in the evaluation of the technical parameters of projects to determine the feasibility of accomplishment, with consideration of Time constraints, economics, logistics and engineering requirements.
You will schedule and coordinate events with contractors, (Department of Defense) DOD and (Department of Navy) DON communications experts and engineers that are part of the planning phases and are affected by the progressive events of the project.
You will review and evaluate electronic engineering documents for proposed installations to ensure compliance with specifications, project objectives, and various engineering criteria (i.e. space availability, power and air conditioning, etc.,).
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
*Experience analyzing technical characteristics of analog and digital data circuits, EHF, UHF, VLF, and SHF satellite systems, CRYPTO, micro-wave and related components; their inter-relationship and compatibility, equivalent types, technical and operational limitations and the relations and compatibility with other installed equipment.
*Experience examining the emanation characteristics of broadcast technology and how to mitigate and address it, specifically TEMPEST.
*Experience applying Navy Supply requisitioning procedures including MILSTRIP/DAAS System and CASREP requisitioning for both NSN and Non-NSN material, Navy procedures for stocking and management of parts, and GSA requisitioning and purchasing procedures and policies.
*Experience utilizing OPTAR financial management, government purchase card procedures, bookkeeping skills and reporting procedures and maintaining an accurate accounting and reporting system for non-expendable property and perform routine phases of property management.
This position is within the Work Category Technician & Administrative Support at Work Level Full Performance, Series and Grade GG-11.
