You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Chief Technology Officer Division of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $128,043)
Duties
You will work closely with inventors to lead the invention capture process.
You will evaluate, protect assets, and assist with patent and market searches.
You will support the Patent Legal team with invention disclosure submissions, reviews, assessments, facilitation, and decisions.
You will manage intellectual property and technology databases.
You will gather and update patent assessment information and identify IP and technology portfolios for potential for licensing.
You will track licensing status of intellectual property and inventors intellectual property to support licensing and agreement negotiations.
You will track disposition of licenses and develop plans to ensure licensees are meeting commitments of the license agreement.
You will engage with potential licensees and partners to determine best possible partners.
You will actively match IP portfolio with actual procurement pathways.
You will participate in the identification of emerging risks and trends.
You will identify and leverage lessons learned and best practices from internal and external events, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
You will educate the workforce.
You will assist with inventor incentive awards.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical and programmatic guidance, project management or developing and implementing program strategies.
