You will serve as an Electronics Technician in the Navy shipboard network, communication, electronic and weapon systems C5I, Office of, N6, Commander, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron (COMLCSRON) THREE.

Duties

You will serve as a principal LCS advisor for assessments and certifications of Navy shipboard network, communication, electronic and weapon systems. You will periodically inspect shipboard network, communication, electronic and weapon systems, sub-systems, and zones based upon specific target attributes. You will utilize current inspection templates with pre-engineered conditions found selections, including condition thresholds triggering a need for generating Automated Work Notification (AWN). You will identify assessment periodicity requirements, including event based triggers (start-up, shut-down, post-layup, etc.). You will provide maintenance prioritization recommendations of all documented deficiency impacts and provides input to the appropriate Advance Planner. You will provide evaluation of equipment health and reliability calculation results for systems monitored by the Machinery Reliability Management System (MRMS). You will review current Ships Maintenance Plan (CSMP) for accuracy and currency. Provide input (feedback) to LCSRON N43 staff and crew to improve discrepancy to streamline corrective actions. You will develop and produce technical reports and presentations concerning readiness issues discovered during assessments. You will provide recommendations based upon the weekly prioritized corrective maintenance documented on the Current Ship Maintenance Project (CSMP) from the Site Readiness Engineer and provides recommendations for prioritization.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires the ability to work onboard ships.
  • This position requires the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • This position requires the ability to work in small and/or confined spaces.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical engineering services by analyzing and troubleshooting shipboard systems and equipment to support ship maintenance, modernization, or repair projects.
