You will serve as an Electronic Technician in the Waterfront Operations Department, Regional Maintenance Centers of NAVSURFPAC READSUPGRU.

Duties

You will exercise sound judgment in analyzing and developing solutions to the project objectives. You will apply knowledge of related engineering disciplines (such as computer, electrical, electronic, mechanical, etc.) in order to analyze problems from an overall system viewpoint. You will attend assigned Maintenance meetings advising team of current status and make recommendations for improvement. You will analyze repair practices and develop procedural instructions for use by others on methods and steps to repair equipment. You will frequently interface with different high level personnel (ship commanding officers and operational commanders. You will influence or persuade engineers on technical points about which there are disagreements and controversy. You will apply theoretical engineering methodology in analysis and resolution of problems encountered in assignments, particularly with respect to interfaces involving other than the primary field of expertise. You will complete testing, evaluate data, and determine acceptability of equipment modifications, validity, test procedures and data, or legality of operation. You will apply knowledge of electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and implementing technical engineering principles and practices to research, test, and resolve issues impacting the installation or modernization of shipboard systems to improve operational reliability or readiness.
