This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228. This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP). This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Entrepreneurial Development in Washington, D.C. The Financial Examiner is responsible for examining management and technical assistant programs located within the Office of Entrepreneurial Development.

Duties

Drafts preliminary examination packages for reviews processing, secures preliminary information, and conducts review orientations. Prepares documents for review and makes recommendations relative to the examination of operations and objectives. Assist with planning and coordinating of the examination objectives and procedures to support the mission. Consults with senior leaders of host management and technical assistance programs, providing technical advice, direction concerning financial guidance as needed and requested. Prepares documents for review and makes recommendations relative to the examination of operations and objectives. Prepares various financial examination documents to include file set up and maintenance for financial reports, maintains other pertinent and relative reports.

Qualifications

GS-12: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector that includes: analyzing, reviewing and/or auditing financial documents; and coordinating and providing a broad range of administrative support; and drafting, reviewing, and transmitting notifications and correspondence notifications relating to financial examinations. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume. GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector that includes: providing guidance and interpretation of policies, regulations and emerging legislation regarding grants programs; and participating in strategic program planning, development, and evaluation of the implementation of long-term program goals and objectives; and applying a wide range of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of grants programs; and networking, negotiating and building effective partnerships/relationships to advance the mission of a program or organization. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 01/11/2024.
