About the Position: This position is located at the Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC), within the Directorate for Administration, Department of Information Management/Information Technology, Clinical Informatics. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday, 7:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
Duties
Perform a variety of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training management tasks.
Communicate with system users and system developers to identify changes in the system or hospital clinical environment that will affect training.
Plan, execute, and evaluate the training and training support of the systems which constitute the DoD (Department of Defense) EMR.
Perform implementation and training duties associated with provider, nursing, support staff, and clerical user access, profiles, and patient management.
Identify needed developmental areas and recommend improvements to the current training programs.
Train users on the basic functionality of the EMR system.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- Knowledge of the following Electronic Medical Record inpatient and outpatient clinical information systems is preferred but not required: AHLTA, CHCS-CACHE, Essentris, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Asutype.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes instructing standardized course material developed for clinical staff on the use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; reviewing/evaluating training materials and audiovisual aids for course content from a variety of sources; coordinating review of recommendations for course modifications; developing materials (ex. student guides, quick reference materials, etc.) for portions or sections of training materials in coordination with the senior training supervisors at the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) level; and ensuring course evaluation tools are completed and returned upon completion of training sessions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as clinical information systems.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
