The Health Data Program Analyst for the Mental Health &Behavioral Sciences Service (MH&BS) is involved with daily activities and interactions relating to data collection and analysis for Service use in program management and administration, particularly in productivity/workload monitoring, performance measurement, and goal achievement.
Duties
Major Duties:
Implement of reports relating to MH Initiatives.
Coordinate the implementation of program evaluation processes for the Service
Serve as liaison with the other Services and organizations for all service related clinical program analysis and related administrative issues.
Serve in a leading position and working with health sciences staff of the service assigned to clinical chart review and reporting, patient data collection and reporting.
Collecting statistical reports and data and reporting on services performance improvement initiatives.
Monitoring and maintaining data related to the standards for service and organization compliance with the Joint Commission.
Monitoring and Ensuring other services compliance with National Service organization recommendations.
Preparing Management Reports/Business Plan for leadership review.
Compiling and retrieving workload and other information for the presentation of clinical provider profiles.
Serves on several service and hospital wide committees and teams, etc. At times may be required to initiate projects and/or chair some of these committees relating to medical center/MH initiatives.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/05/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Collect, organize, manipulate, analyze, present, monitor and maintain data; Serve as liaison for the service; Prepare various reports and/or business plans for leadership review; Serve on service and hospital wide committee teams; Assist leadership with developing long and short-range policies; Assist leadership in administering budget and financial management; Assist in planning and accomplishing special projects. OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. NOTE: Transcripts (unofficial or official) must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and graduate-level education beyond one year (beyond 18 semester hours).
