You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist in BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY (M1).

Duties

You will coordinate with instructors and schedule Human Resources training sessions. You will develop and draft recommendations on delivery of Human Resources training for HR staff and supervisors of civilians. You will identify gaps and training needs for both Human Resources and civilian supervisory training. You will send out and collect the evaluations for training. You will develop, draft and present training material related to Human Resources and supervision of civilian employees. You will collect, analyze and present information and data regarding Human Resources program operations. You will administer the records management program for the Bureau of Medicine (BUMED) Human Resources Office.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Inability to obtain and maintain the required clearance level may be a cause for removal from the position.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Performing developmental tasks in one or more Federal Human Resources disciplines such as Staffing, Classification, Labor and Employee Relations (LER), and Workforce Development. Utilizing federal, Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DON) Human Resources rules and regulations. Analyzing Human Resources data information and requirements. Utilizing human resource and supervisory training requirements. Creating and presenting training or information. OR- successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR- successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree. OR-obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. OR-combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to 100% of the requirement.
