Duties

You will assist the Security Current Operations Division Supervisor (SPB 52), with planning, initiating, monitoring, and evaluating a wide variety of complex strategic weapons-related security programs. You will integrate Strategic Weapons Security response concepts into long-range operational plans maintained by the SWF Commander. You will monitor/review long range security planning and submarine operational planning and coordinates implementation of approved plans in the security of strategic assets. You will monitor program procedures contained in the SWFPAC Force Protection Plan/Site Security Plan to ensure it is kept current with command policy and with the requirements of higher authority. You will coordinate the status of the accomplishment of security plans and programs for the Security Officer and is tasked with maintaining appropriate documentation reflecting SWFPAC progress in achieving goals in that area. You will determine compliance with security procedures and requirements using checklists and procedures developed by the incumbent, noting deficiencies/recommending corrective action where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NH-01 (GS-04 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
  • Have successfully completed a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
Or
  • Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
