You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Base Safety Division of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will develop, plan, organize, coordinate, administer and evaluate a comprehensive occupational safety and health, traffic, and recreational/off-duty safety program.
You will provide guidance, recommendations, and assistance to installation military and civilian personnel concerning established safety methods and techniques in order to eliminate and reduce exposure to hazards, mishaps, and personal injuries.
You will assist in designated command investigations.
You will provide technical safety program management oversight for mandated programs.
You will serve as lead trainer by schedulihng classes, preparing syllabuses and teaching outlines for subordinate safety and occupational health specialists.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting safety and occupational health inspections and safety training.
GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in conducting safety and occupational health inspections.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
GS-09
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
GS-07
Completed 1 full year of graduate level education
or
Completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
