You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICAL INVESTIGATOR of NCIS.
All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will serve as a supervisory TSCM Investigator assigned to the specified Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Headquarters or forward deployed Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) office.
You will supervise subordinate staff during the execution of TSCM program operational and administrative requirements while concurrently, actively participating in TSCM investigative operations.
You will assign work to subordinates, develop performance plans, evaluate work performance of subordinates, take disciplinary measures, and identify developmental and training needs of employees.
You will be responsible for ensuring the timely investigative output necessary for the attaining productivity toward organizational goals.
You will coordinate major investigations requiring more than one responding TSCM team's involvement.
You will mentor, train, provide guidance, and counsel TSCM investigators on technical matters, administrative requirements and customer support engagement during ongoing investigative activities.

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience providing supervision to the overall planning, conducting and organizing complex investigations; supervising staff during the execution of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) program operational and administrative requirements; AND developing and maintaining effective liaison with Civilian and military law enforcement.
