This position is assigned to the Fitness, Sports and Deployed Forces Branch (N921); Fleet Readiness (N92); Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR); Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); Naval Station Norfolk, VA. The incumbent will handle the logistical flow of fitness, sports, recreation, and leisure items to the Shore, Fleet and Forward Deployed Navy Ground Forces.
Duties

Logistical duties comprise 75% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to:
Serves as logistical expert for fitness equipment and warehouse management in matters pertaining to general recreation and fitness inventory, equipment distribution and warehouse inventory.
Serves as the technical expert for Deployed Forces inventory program, Inventory Program Online (IPOL) for inventory, ordering, issuing and receiving. Indoctrinates new Deployed Forces personnel on the use of the inventory program.
Coordinates the shipping/distribution systems for fitness, recreation, leisure and sports related items for Commands generally not supported by the Deployed Forces Support (DFS) Program to include Defense Attaché Offices, Embassies, decentralized commands and other remote and isolated locations falling under the Navy's purview.
Acts as the receiving agent for the All-Navy Sports warehouse in Norfolk, VA.
Reviews and evaluates shipboard standards to ensure compliance with equipment awarded through the Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) process and all equipment is approved for shipboard use (i.e. can be secured for sea).
Drives to warehouses to receive shipments and validate inventory.
Administrative duties comprise 25 % of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to:
Provides weekly/monthly/quarterly and yearly reports as well as advising supervisor of the inventory levels at Deployed Forces locations worldwide.
Develops preventive maintenance schedules for afloat, ashore and ground force commands utilizing current contracts.
Plans, schedules and implements fitness equipment workshops for Fleet and Shore personnel.
Develops and revise as necessary a catalog of fitness and recreation equipment to include spare parts.
Advises immediate supervisor when parts inventory and recreational warehouses need restocking.
Serves as on-site liaison for the Military Sealift Command Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
Works with CNIC Civilian Afloat Program Manager to evaluate needs and ascertain direction of Program.
Requirements
- Must pass all applicable records and background check.

- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. Driver's License.

A qualified candidate possess the following:
Knowledge of CNIC Fleet Readiness / Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Management practices, theories and techniques which provide a basis to assist in planning and implementing ashore and afloat fitness program requirements for active duty personnel.
Knowledge of detailed requirements, within available or allocated resources, for funds, equipment, supplies, and services.
Knowledge of design and development, procurement, production, storage, distribution, maintenance, transportation, utilization, and disposal of equipment.
Knowledge of military organization and function.
Knowledge of Navy policies and procedures directing proper administration of forward deployed quality of life (QOL) operations.
Knowledge of the ashore and afloat command environment, routines, and organizational structures.
Skill in evaluating, troubleshooting, and identifying maintenance problems on fitness equipment.
Skill in the use of IPOL for inventory, ordering, issuing and receiving.
Skill in innovation for configuring fitness equipment in small or unconventional spaces, adapting to new types of equipment and improved warehouse procedures.
Ability to identify and solve problem areas.
Ability to deal effectively with all levels in the chain of command.
Ability to identify and recommend management improvements that have the potential to improve all Navy commands.
