This National Guard position is for a UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER - TITLE 5, Position Description Number PDT5741300 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard.
Duties
As a UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER - TITLE 5, GS-0301-9, you will plan, organize, and oversee all unit level deployment activities. Configure and maintain functional Unit Type Codes (UTCs) as postured by MAJCOM FAMs (Functional Area Managers) using available unit assets. Notify the wing Installation Deployment Officer (IDO) and MAJCOM FAM for remedial action when UTCs cannot be supported due to changes in manpower or equipment. Monitor UTC/Unit Manning Document (UMD) authorizations and notify senior management/applicable offices when mismatches are identified. May be required to manage and operate the Unit Deployment Control Center (UDCC) during exercise or contingencies. Establish metric and system analysis systems for unit and higher level management to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures. Analyze the combat capability of unit through intensive evaluation of training, equipment status, manning, and unit supervision. Review data to determine deficiencies, if any, and directs or performs appropriate corrective actions. Assist/Manage status of reporting to include unit's Air Force Input Tool (AF-IT), Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) and AEF Reporting Tool (ART) reporting requirements. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program. Ensure the unit is ready to meet wartime and peacetime mobility tasking's by scheduling and tracking unit deployment training. Support redeployed personnel in the redeployment support process within the unit. Counsel family members of deployed personnel on service programs available. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower level at the normal line of progression through Federal Service GS-07 or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrate experience and knowledge of organizational structures, functions, procedures and techniques. Experience including knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures affecting deployment operations; experience in theory and principles of management and organization, including administrative practices and procedures pertaining to areas of responsibility, channels of communication, delegation of authority, and routing of correspondence; and experience in administrative processes and documentation requirements to ensure deployment readiness.
