About the Position: Serves as Chief of Staff and Programs Manager for the District's Strategic Planning, Knowledge Management, Onboarding and Acculturation, Recruitment and Retention, Workforce Development, Leader Development, Internal Review, and Small Business programs. As key civilian member of the Executive Office staff, performs advisory duties and a full range of management functions in planning, organizing, and advising District programs across all business lines.

Duties

Serves as the Chief of Staff for the Louisville District under the supervision of the Deputy Commander (DC) and the District Commander (CDR) in the development and direction of District policies, programs, and operations. As a member of the district corporate Board and executive Staff, advises the CDR, Deputy, Deputy District Engineer (DDE), and other executive senior leaders in all areas of management and administration. Advise and assist in the development and execution of the district’s strategic plans, goals, and business process improvement initiatives. Review and discuss policymaking and precedent-setting with the CDR, Deputy, DDE and other executive senior leaders for advisory purposes. Review the adequacy of work and decisions made through discussions of the program areas assigned, discussions with the Executive Office Staff principals and senior leaders, and through the progress of the mission support programs. Integrates division level involvement to cover the full range of management advisory services and technical functions performed by the district support offices. Assist the CDR, Deputy, and DDE in revising district policy in support of the district mission to include knowledge management, training management, process improvement, outreach, and logistics management functions. In the absence of the Deputy Commander, assumes the role and executes the functions of the office as determined by the District Commander.
