One position will be located in Baton Rouge, LA, and the second position may be located in either of the Columbus, OH, or Louisville, KY offices of the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Consumer and Community Affairs Branch, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. These positions support the mission of Community Affairs.
Duties
-Engage in proactive communication with community- based organizations, academia, government officials, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies regarding Community Reinvestment Act, fair lending, economic inclusion, and community development to identify and address ways to support the needs of low- and moderate-income communities and individuals.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here.
To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience fostering communication between banks and community-based organizations (CBOs). This includes research and analysis in identifying credit needs of communities establishing and managing partnerships with CBOs to increase lending, depository activities and investments; and leading roundtable discussions and workgroups with the bank, community, and regulatory representatives about community reinvestment issues, consumer protection laws, and/or fair lending.
