You will serve as a MANAGEMENT SERVICES SPECIALIST in the ???????REGIONAL SUPPORT GROUP, EXECUTIVE DIVISION of REGIONAL SUPPORT GROUP, GROTON.

Duties

You will ensure the maximum material readiness of all submarines assigned to Navy Region Northeast allowing them to perform prompt, sustained combat operations at sea. You will make recommendations for, and participate in the development of personnel assignment policy and support services and programs for Regional Support Group (RSG) Groton. You will assist all incoming Sailors in completing travel claims, providing information regarding travel entitlements for travel claims, and travel advances. You will coordinate and track Limited Duty personnel assignments, internal assignments, transfers, and officer and enlisted administrative separations.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience using the Limited Duty Program, Abbreviated Medical Board Reports, Worldwide Assignment/Suitability Screenings, Non-Medical Assessments for Medical Board determinations; Experience using the Master Military Pay Account (MMPA) electronic program for viewing UIC history past and present for current debts and proper pay entitlements for Sailors arriving and leaving the command; Experience using the Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS); Official Military Personnel File (OMPF), Transaction Online Processing System (TOPS), Special Duty Waivers (SDW), BUPERS online (BOL) and the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Limited Duty Sailor Marine Readiness Tracker (LIMD SMART); Experience utilizing the Master Military Pay Account (MMPA) to view perspective and past UICs to ensure correct pay entitlements. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
OR
Possession of an LL.M. related to this position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
