About the Position: This position serves as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command. The Army's Face to the World, the one-stop focal point for Army FMS, and the international partner of choice in U.S. security assistance.

Duties

Direct the work of logistics/supply personnel performing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) assignments for foreign countries, programs, and/or organizations. Coordinate functions throughout the organization to accomplish case management objectives. Provide advice to U.S. and foreign organizations concerning new programs/methods affecting country to country support. Establish performance plans that are aligned with the organizational goals and the employee's position description. Analyze organizational structure to determine staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Percentage of time to be spent Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is 15%.
  • The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position’s SCW certification level.
  • Complete Civilian Education System Foundation training within one year of appointment.
  • One year Supervisory Probation period if not previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing logistics and supply program management support to Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers to meet requirements and deadlines; monitoring case performance to ensure compatibility with functional areas of procurement, maintenance, supply, and financial accounting; and distributing workload among team members to meet suspenses while ensuring their actions are accurate and in accordance with organizational policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceManpower & PersonnelOral CommunicationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
