About the Position:
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion not to exceed 2 years by a current permanent Army Employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years.
Position may be filled as a TERM appointment not to exceed 2 years if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. TERM appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
Duties
Uses computer hardware and prototype software to support the operations of the office using AIE for Trainee in-processing. documents in draft and final form using word processing software,graphics software, or other automated programs.
Serves as subject matter expert on all areas affecting AIE prototype, exercises responsibility and accountability to ensure accuracy of program operation impacting all active duty, reservists and National Guard Service members.
Uses office automation software for database, spreadsheets, word processing.
Facilitate group briefing on how to process Trainees evaluates current and future AIE capabilities, conducts testing of the system functionality, assists in creation of training programs of instruction and creates daily/weekly reports.
The work affects soldiers entering the U. S. Army in-processing and creating their single source record/official military personnel jacket and benefits entitlements.
Provides assistance during on the job training to new users of AIE according to established training plan.
Maintains written AIE user guides for battalion reference and provides feedback to technical writer/CIMT HQs, and instructs on changes in procedures when new capabilities are delivered in collaboration with training team and CIMT HQs AIE SME.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) coordinating military issuance of identification cards/tags and enrollment into systems such as the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System and Real-time Automated Personnel Identification system (DEERS/RAPIDS); 2) processing financial documents such as DA Form 4187's , direct deposit forms, soldier benefits, insurance and beneficiary forms; AND 3) utilizes office databases such as Arrival transactions (EMILPO) and Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (IPERMS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).
