Duties
As a TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST (INSTRUCTOR) at the GS-2101-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Monitors, studies. analyze, and evaluate USTRANSCOM global defense courier activities in order to plan, manage and execute a courier training program to develop and maintain courier technical proficiency throughout courier assignment lifecycle.
Coordinates, develops and maintains an initial orientation course agenda with staff elements outside agencies and prospective students as appropriate and serve as primary course instructor.
Tracks personnel security matters related to all assigned couriers from initial assignment through end of tour.
Applies distribution expertise related to defense transportation, courier operations, and logistics systems to interpret, review, coordinate and edit DOD and command policy and provide guidance to tri-service joint personnel on classified movements throughout the division's global station network.
Performs duties as staff action officer to prepare clear. concise reports and present briefings to managers and decision makers.
Requirements
- Must obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive (SS), Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) clearance

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Performing temporary duty travel to courier stations, customers, and partner agencies to provide guidance, training and assistance and verify effectiveness of station training programs.
Coordinating personnel and physical security issues between the individual courier station.
Applying distribution expertise related to defense transportation, courier operations, and logistics systems to interpret, review, coordinate and edit DOD and command policy.
Creating, managing and maintaining online training programs and/or a training database.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
