About the Position: This position will support electrical and mechanical engineers with computer aided design and drafting (CADD) utilizing MicroStation and/or AutoDesk products. Develop CADD drawings for electrical and mechanical construction projects and conduct reviews of submitted CADD work insuring accuracy and quality.
Duties
Provide computer aided design and drafting (CADD) and building information modeling (BIM) support for electrical and mechanical engineers utilizing various software platforms, such as Bentley MicroStation, AutoDesk AutoCAD and Revit.
Use CADD competencies to plan, modify, and create electrical and/or mechanical design drawings.
Create accurate 2D/3D CADD models, plans, sections, and details of various electrical and/or mechanical features of locks, dams, or other similar infrastructure.
Utilize MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit to develop accurate, concise, and organized engineering plans/drawings for assigned projects, conforming to District CAD standards.
Analyze drawings to determine their adequacy in terms of meeting the design intent, and providing plans from which a project can be constructed.
Performs quality control review of generated products, archive files, and maintains documentation.
Identifies priorities and makes adjustments as necessary to meet organization workload commitments.
Effectively communicate with project team members to develop an in-depth understanding of project deliverables, schedule, and budget. Provide project updates, including progress and future challenges.
Coordinate with other disciplines, engineers, technicians, customers to assure CADD detailing meets expectations.
Assist in field activities to gather project information as necessary.

GS-07 Specialized Experience: Developing 2D CADD electrical and/or mechanical contract drawings including plans, sections, details, and diagrams utilizing Computer Assisted Design and Drafting (CADD) software (MicroStation, AutoCAD); cooperatively assist electrical mechanical engineers with the design and analysis of new and existing systems utilizing CADD software. GS-8 Specialized Experience: Developing 2D/3D electrical and/or mechanical drawings and models including plans, sections, details, and diagrams utilizing Computer Assisted Design and Drafting (CADD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit); cooperatively assist electrical mechanical engineers with the design and analysis of new and existing systems utilizing CADD/BIM software. GS-9 Specialized Experience: Independently developing 2D/3D electrical and/or mechanical drawings and models including plans, sections, details, and diagrams utilizing Computer Assisted Design and Drafting (CADD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit); cooperatively assist electrical mechanical engineers with the design and analysis of new and existing systems utilizing CADD/BIM software.
