About the Position: Serves as the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Manager and Computer Aided Design (CAD) Manager responsible for all BIM/CAD related issues, including technical guidance; quality control of all BIM and CAD products, evaluation and implementation of processes and standards; evaluation of advanced programs, trouble-shooting, procedures and equipment; coordination of training needs, presentation of training courses, budget management, and preparation of operating protocol.
Duties
Serve as BIM/CAD Manager responsible for standards, development, implementation, budget management, and enforcement.
Review all information to ensure compliance with established BIM/CAD standards, criteria, published regulations and overall project requirements along with application of best practices.
Develop, organize, and implement BIM/CAD plans, project startup methods, standards, and workflow strategies.
Oversee and assist project teams with advanced3D/4D modeling requirements, content creation, and coordination efforts.
Provide direction and guidance on the principles, policies, and procedures for utilization of BIM.
Provide regular guidance to project teams as it relates to BIM/CAD production.
Develop training plans, conduct BIM/CAD training, and support business development efforts.
Serve as technical advisor working collaboratively with BIM/CAD Managers regionally and nationally across USACE, in-house, and within Architect-Engineers (A-E) Firms.
Responsible for maintaining technical expertise in the use of BIM and CAD software tools such as Revit, Microstation, Civil3D, Navisworks, etc.
Troubleshoot and resolve BIM/CAD application issues, and implement new versions of BIM/CAD Software.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: managing the implementation of a specific type of critical software that is used to generate design documents; experience in managing the Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) processes including implementing new standards, software, leading multi-disciplined teams, providing technical direction and guidance, trouble-shooting, preparation of operating protocol, etc; experience in the integration of BIM and Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) into business, design practices, processes, leading teams in 3D coordination and document development; and a working knowledge of REVIT, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microstation software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
