You will serve as a GG-2210-14 IT Specialist (NETWORK/INFOSEC) at the HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER in Suitland, MD, where you will perform the role of the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for classified and unclassified enterprise networks.
Duties
You will ensure all networks maintain appropriate security posture and accreditation at all times.
You will monitor security artifacts through the Risk Management Framework, tracking progress, and ensuring that Authorization to Operate (ATO) is obtained and maintained for all networks.
You will coordinate actions, track resolution of vulnerabilities, and provide various report summaries to local Information Systems Security Manager and leadership as required by local policy.
You will ensure system patches are being applied, approve and maintain list of current privileged users, and maintain copies of Authorization to Operate (ATO), Authorization to Connect (ATC), and system waivers.
You will develop local divisional processes associated the Information Systems Security Officer functions and responsibilities.
You will utilize and comprehend networking principles such as: OSI model, routing protocols, network security, and their interaction with various information assurance technologies.
You will keep abreast of changes and upgrades to the organization's network defense systems/security technologies, operating systems, network methods, installation techniques and architectures, hardware, software, and network management systems.

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.

Qualifications
This position requires one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as:
1. Provide security-related oversight and guidance regarding secure communication and network operations as the organization's Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and network security expert.
2. Ensure that vulnerability scans are run correctly and system patches applied to all assigned assets in accordance with the organization's policy, and develop plan of actions and milestones documents to capture all open vulnerabilities, impact, expected schedule and tasks required for resolution.
3. Review audit logs for various network devices and verify that backups are being performed and catalogued according to policy.
4. Maintain accounts in various Information Assurance tracking databases to ensure that information is current/in good standing.
5. Prepare written reports and impact briefs to leadership on current and new technology relating to information assurance and/or network administration.
