Duties
Serves within the DLA Information Operations (J6), Program Executive Office (J62), Portfolio Management J62E in the OM (J62EBA), C/IM (J62EBB), TQ (J62EBD) FI (J62EBC), PR (J62EBF) branches or the J62P Center for Planning Excellence (COPE) Portfolio
(continued) as a member of a software development team or a COPE program area support team member.
Responsible for varied application programming services to include analyzes, designs, documents, develops, integrates, modifies, tests, installs, and supports new or existing Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) software.
Conducts research and investigations into technological developments with the potential to improve design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.
Provides tasks such as Requirements Analysis, Risk Analysis, Software Design, Software Programming, System Testing and Implementation, and Software Transition.
Provides advice, assistance and technical support for introducing new integration methodologies and tools.

- This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located within J6 Information Operations.
- Incumbent is subject to call back work, occasional overtime and, as required, emergency overtime; and is required to carry a Government provided cell phone and respond to calls.
Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (APPSW) your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Uses a variety of application programming languages; such as System Applications and Products (SAP), Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) language and Structured Query Language (SQL) to write/modify applications, interfaces, extensions, reports and forms to satisfy user requirements.
Functions within a team environment to develop and/or integrate application software solutions that meet the logistics business needs of the user community.
Evaluates management and user requirements by designing, writing, constructing, integrating, testing, debugging, modifying, and maintaining processes that meet technical and functional requirements.
