You will serve as a LEAD FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Financial Management Division (N10/PERS7) of PERS WASHINGTON.
Duties
You will work on the formulation of the budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities.
You will be analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of the organization’s programs and administrative operations.
You will be implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets; implementation of internal controls and providing advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds.
You will communicate the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values and incorporate these into the team’s goals, objectives, work products and services.
You will communicate assignments/projects, milestones, deadlines and timeframes for completion.
You will train or arrange for training of employees in teamwork and/or specific technical training as necessary.

- This is a Financial Management Level 2 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising on budget, accounting, or financial management policy and procedures within an organization; 2) Leading and/or mentoring a team in all facets of financial program management and execution; 3) Coordinating the development and reporting of cost/performance information in support of mission tasks for an organization; 4) Implementing approved financial management policies with the organization based on existing policy and develops/issues implementing procedures.
