You will serve as a IT SPECIALSIT (CUSTSPT) in the TECHNICAL PROJECTS of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Duties

You will perform work that involves developing, delivering or supporting IT systems and services. You will provide technical support to customers who need advice, assistance, and training in applying hardware and software systems. You will work with others to provide technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to other technical specialists on critical IT issues.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 Intermediate Level within 12 months of appointment.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Facilitates the gathering, analysis, and preservation of pertinent data used to resolve security or safety incidents. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Work with others to provide technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to other technical specialists on critical IT issues. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Apply oral and written communication skills to interface effectively with personnel internally at the project level and externally at the peer level. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide technical support to customers who need advice, assistance, and training in applying hardware and software systems. NO-04: In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-09 or pay band NO-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in enforcing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that govern the operations of the Joint Integrated Consolidated Facility (JICF) lab; developing and maintaining databases to ensure that systems, networks, and data are tracked and monitored; and managing the day to day operation of a secure Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence (C4I) facility. NO-03: In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-09 or pay band NO-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in developing and maintaining databases to ensure that systems, networks, and data are tracked and monitored; and supporting the day to day operation of a secure Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence (C4I) facility.
