You will serve as a JOINT OPERATIONS PLANNER in the JOINT FLEET OPERATIONS DIVISION of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.
Duties
You will provide technical, operational, and management and administrative support to the Future Operations Center (FOC), within the Maritime Operations Center (MOC).
You will develop and execute a wide variety of joint and service operational plans, Concepts of Operation (CONOPS), and Operations Orders (OPORDS), affecting all aspects of USFF support to USSTRATCOM.
You will serve as the principal advisor and subject matter expert to the Future Operations (FOPS) Branch Head for all aspects of Operations Planning and Movement of Forces and associated CJCS, USNORTHCOM and USSTRATCOM Contingency Plans.
You will review joint and service doctrine publications related to USNORTHCOM, USSTRATCOM, and service mission areas; specifically, MHD, missile defense and NORAD support missions, DSCA and TSC.
You will coordinate and direct the efforts of the Operational Planning Team (OPT) and represent the FOP/FOC as required.
You will lead and participate in briefings, meetings, conferences, and battle rhythm events in support of Maritime Operations Center (MOC) activities, when required.
You will manage a variety of technical, managerial, operational, and organizational issues ensuring the USFF/NAVNORTH crisis readiness, and deliberate planning and execution of Joint Force Movement at the operational level.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience analyzing, evaluating and communicating Joint and Naval Operational plans, policies, experimentation and doctrine to USFF/NAVNORTH leadership.
Experience with crisis action and deliberate planning.
Experience preparing all forms of naval correspondence; to include letters, point papers, messages, and reports and evaluations.
Experience with maritime operations.
Experience with ADP software, operating systems and utilities applicable to the USFF/NAVNORTH LAN.
Experience with NATO, allied coalition force requirements, joint coalition, naval operations and procedures and force readiness requirements.
Experience with national maritime strategy policy and joint component planning requirements.
Experience with organizational structures, functions, operations, and procedures of DoD, CJCS, Combatant Commands, OPNAV, USAA/USNAVNORTH, naval subordinate, staffs, and joint warfare planning and guidance.
Experience with Joint Operational Planning Processes (JOPP), national policy, operational strategies and concepts pertaining to joint operations.
Experience with the Unified Command Plan, the Adaptive Planning and Execution System, the Joint Strategic Capabilities Plan, and JP-1 Doctrine for the Armed Forces of the United States.
Experience with operational planning requirements and processes for naval forces and Navy Component Commands assigned to the Geographic Combatant Commanders.
