You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Cybersecurity Branch of NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-05 is equivalent to GS-13/14. This position is salary capped at GS-13 Step 10 (currently $128,043). See "Additional Information" section.

Duties

You will function as the Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) managing all aspects of the Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT and E) enterprise network's information security. You will conduct risk analyses from vulnerability, compliance scans, pen testing results, or other audit activities. You will advise others based on your knowledge and experience supporting enterprise level end users to meet developmental and organizational goals. You will advise others based on your knowledge and experience with Windows-based systems with a working knowledge of LINUX operating systems. You will analyze and evaluate vulnerability assessments utilizing multiple types of security software, e.g. SCAP ACAS/NESSUS, and DISA STIGs. You will implement DoD directives, e.g. Risk Management Framework (RMF) to ensure proper procedures are followed and documented. You will advise others based on your experience using PowerShell, YAML or other scripting languages for building, testing and deployment of IT solutions.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Systems Security Analysis, Advanced level, within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

FOR NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience performing Information Technology work evaluating security policies, procedures, or measures to ensure they are correctly applied to information systems or networks. Examples of qualifying experience may include: completing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) certification and accreditation process; validating RMF Security Controls; accomplishing risk assessments using the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system; completing independent Security Assessment Reports; documenting risk assessment on the program's compliance and/or non-compliance of Cybersecurity requirements (policies, procedures, instructions, standards); validating configuration of systems (Hardware, Software, Firmware). Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
