You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the AFLOAT COMMAND & CONTROL BRANCH (E24) of the JOINT INTEROPERABILITY IRR WARFARE DIV in the EXPEDITIONARY & MARITIME SYSTEMS DEPT for NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10.
Duties
You will perform in and lead a team of administrators and analysts performing the identification, remediation, and testing of emerging vulnerabilities on Joint and Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) or similar Command and Control (C2) systems.
You will be responsible for the oversight of all patches and HotFixes across all of the JEXC2 Family of Systems (FoS).
You will improve, streamline and automate the patch processes utilizing various scripting languages, applications and frameworks such as Python, PowerShell, MECM and Ansible.
You will collaborate with functional groups across the JEXC2 FoS and In Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) to ensure C4I systems receive applicable security updates.
You will lead modernization efforts in coordination with the Maintenance Release Lead and JEXC2 Research and Development function to ensure a seamless and uniform product is delivered.
You will monitor patch creation, test, delivery, and schedule to ensure timely execution while identifying and resolving impediments to the processes.
You will oversee the JEXC2 Cyber Information Assurance Vulnerability Management program.? This includes overseeing the identification, tracking, and reporting of IAVA/B, CVEs, and ACAS Plugins applicable to JEXC2 systems.
You will be responsible for the configuration management (CM) and scheduling of lab systems used to develop and test security solutions.
You will collaborate with the other JEXC2 Cybersecurity Operations Leads (Assurance, Compliance, and Innovation) to identify vulnerabilities and develop solutions for all JEXC2 C4I product areas and customers.
You will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on JEXC2 FoS security posture when interfacing with customers, inspectors, ISEA functions, and stakeholders.
You will communicate authoritatively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization and develop succinct and well organized written correspondence, plans, reports, and briefs.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451-System Administrator level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying Information Technology (IT) security principles to monitor and evaluate systems' compliance with cybersecurity requirements. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
