About the Position: The position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE), Ft. Moore, Georgia 31905. The "Maneuver Center of Excellence" is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking is available.

Duties

Consult and interview a variety of subject matter experts and in gathering information from many different sources and in selecting that appropriate for furnishing member, of Congress and Senate. Formulate timely compressive, factual and coordinated replies to written and telephonic inquires, to assure that responsive to requests regarding that role, policies and activities of the Army are understood by congressmen and their staffers. Coordinate and respond to inquiries to assist others in the handling of inquires; present clarifications/explanation of Army activities and policies. Maintain reference publications, regulations, SOPs, pertinent to the mission of the MCoE. Research and verify facts containing information received in Army programs, policies, regulations and operations.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes tracking inquiries to ensure each action is staffed, responses are prepared in a timely manner and in accordance with Department of the Army policy; and prepare recap of ongoing actions for managements review. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalOral CommunicationOrganizational AwarenessWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
