The position serves as the senior advisor to the Office of Policy, International Affairs, and Environment with responsibility for providing expert advice and counsel for assigned areas under the purview of the Assistant Administrator and Deputy Assistant Administrator and represents their interests in meetings with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Duties
Provides expert guidance and recommendations to the Assistant Administrator on a wide range of operational and administrative policy issues. Acts as a principal specialist to develop innovative techniques to successfully complete challenging projects, programs and activities pertaining to the National Airspace System (NAS). Provides leadership and guidance on non-routine issues to ensure prompt response and appropriate level of investigation, coordination and follow-through. Evaluates programs to assess execution and recommends ways to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- Travel Required Occasionally.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J, FG/GS-14 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
