As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as a Division Manager within the Flight Standards Service, General Aviation & Commercial Division, AFS-800.

Duties

This position is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and oversight for the full range of Flight Standards program activities by driving collective results. Responsible for managing the development of the Service's strategic direction setting measurable outcomes and adjusting resources as necessary to meet goals and objectives within targeted timeframes. Also responsible for the planning, formulation, implementation, administration and evaluation of a variety of Flight Standards Service programs and projects.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-K/FG-15. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes providing oversight, direction and evaluation of aviation safety programs to ensure compliance with federal and agency regulations, programs, procedures and safety standards governing air operations. Experience managing, conducting or performing various technical functions related to certification, surveillance and enforcement activities.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
