As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.This position is located in the Safety and Technical Training Service Unit (AJI), Safety Directorate, Safety Services Group (AJI-1500).

Duties

The Supervisory Aviation Technical Systems Specialist serves as the Group Manager for the Safety Services Group (AJI-1500). Applies a detailed technical knowledge of National Airspace System (NAS) technical systems, operations and procedures and/or other types of air navigation services to serve as the primary point of contact to evaluate NAS technical incidents and events to identify system-wide safety trends rather than focusing on single events. Manages the work of a Headquarters, multi-level organization typically through subordinate team managers and a staff of highly technical experts in NAS operations. This work is critical to the safety of the NAS, the flying public, and affects all ATO and Federal Aviation Administration operations.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-K, FG/GS-15 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS:Experience investigating and evaluating air traffic and technical operational events to oversee the development and analysis of safety data.Experience analyzing safety data to identify hazards and to develop actions to mitigate such hazards.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
