Selectees will physically report to a V8 home base (options listed under Duty Locations above) Medical Center to do onsite facility orientation, trainings, and meetings. Current V8 CCC employees living outside of the V8 catchment area may be hired for their current home base location. Telework may be granted after training is complete.
Duties
Assists in the development of audit plans for assigned segments and modifies the plan as appropriate.
Assists in identifying specific analytical/audit techniques to address specific functional areas, developing statistical sampling plans, data, collection, and dissemination.
Assists in preparing, organizing, and completing comprehensive work paper files that include complete summaries of evidentiary data to support audit conclusions relevant to audit objectives.
Assists in preparing findings and recommendations covering the areas audited requiring the application of sound judgment in the analysis of each situation and the adaptation of modern audit techniques to non-routing findings.
Keeps the Chief and Deputy Chief, HAS informed of progress and potentially controversial matters that could impact the audit.
Performs a variety of duties requiring a high degree of analytical expertise, as required.
Work Schedule: Administrative Monday- Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/22/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience of current VHA policies, directives, guidelines, or training materials related to access and outpatient clinic utilization/management to include but not limited to the National Scheduling and Consult Management Directives VHA Directive 1230 & 1232. Knowledge of computer operations, including word processing, spreadsheets, graphing, database management, and presentation software with specific knowledge and use of statistical analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel to analyze data, monitor trends, and make recommendations based on the findings.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary but does require some walking, bending, stooping, standing, stretching, and carrying moderately heavy items such as but not limited to manuals, documents, office supplies, and/or data file reports. Work also involves spending a significant amount of time performing keyboard data entry and prolonged periods of data review via a computer monitor. Concentration and sustained performance under prolonged stress may be required due to time factors involved in the completion of work assignments within specified deadlines.
