You will serve as an IT Specialist (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) within NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND.
Duties
You will provide end-user support for all users and systems within the organization and serve as the organization's first line of help to resolve IT and computer systems related issues.
You will configure and administer standalone MAC OS and Windows Operating Systems to meet current Department of Navy (DON) Cybersecurity compliance requirements.
You will consult with customers regarding potential system or program upgrades.
You will proactively interact with users to ensure proper operation of computer systems, hardware, and software.
You will assist with tracking and maintaining of the IT asset inventory by preparing required documents and following established procedures to ensure accuracy of the inventory.
You will research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
You will install, configure, operate, and provide and coordinate support for all client devices and applications and insure they meet the needs and requirements of the activity.
You will monitor and maintain system efficiency and ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together.
You will upgrade the divisions information systems and ensure it meets all Cybersecurity and program functionality and security requirements.
You will execute processes and procedures to comply with information security, physical security, configuration management, and support compliance monitoring.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating a substantive knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods while leading, administering, developing, delivering, and/or supporting information technology (IT) systems and services. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Monitoring and processing access control requests to maintain system security and minimize risks.
2) Assisting with the administration of desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, phones, smartphones, software deployment security updates and/or patches.
3) Troubleshooting problems reported by users and make recommendations for future upgrades.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Major study--computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or engineering, or course work that required the development or adaptation of computer programs and systems and provided knowledge equivalent to a major in the computer field.
