You will serve as a MARITIME OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the Maritime Operations Directorate of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.
Duties
You will perform the duties and responsibilities of the FCC Director in the latter’s absence.
You will assist the Director in the preparation, review and approval of all Standard Operating Procedures and other directing and governing documents supporting Watch Center Operations.
You will provide direct support in managing, supervising, and coordinating the development of Flag Officer Level staff briefing books, electronic briefing materials, correspondence and other presentation materials.
You will provide supervisory control, direct, and coordinate the efforts of military, civilian and contractor personnel.
You will make decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors, team leader, or by contractors.
You will ensure overall efficient operation and readiness of the organization, and be capable of providing guidance and supervision to U.S. Shipping during a contingency situation, national emergency, and limited or general war.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Resolving complex problems/issues, plans, designs, and carrier out assignments.
Managing, supervising, and coordinating the development briefing books, electronic briefing materials, correspondence and other presentation materials.
Providing guidance and supervision to shipping during contingency situation, national emergency and limited or general war.
Planning and assigning work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust priorities, providing technical oversight, for performance standards and evaluate work performance and arrange development and training.
