You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURECES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the HEADQUARTERS AND SUPPORT BATTALION of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will direct and oversee the day-to-day operations related to the Identification Card Center (IDCC). You will supervise a staff of 17 civilian employees. You will evaluate changing requirements in order to tailor to the organization to be capable of obtaining the objectives and milestones necessary to meet mission requirements. You will direct and oversee the day-to-day operations related to the enrollment of the eligible members into Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). You will be the Supervisor and Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System/Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (DEERS/RAPIDS) Site Security Manager (SSM).

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • The incumbent is required to sign the SF-86 Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement not to disclose in any manor, Classified Information to any unauthorized person.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative support In processing of identification cards for military and civilians; reviewing eligibility criteria for TRICARE benefits and entitlements; processing military personnel actions; and utilizing databases to update personal records and maintain records. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
