You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (NUCLEAR) in the Radiological Engineering Division (Code 105.2) of the Radiological Controls Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will be responsible for the collection, management and analysis of quality data in the areas related to Radiological Engineering. You will provide input to various levels of management regarding quality assessments, critique analysis and investigations. You will coordinate and may lead with other quality assurance specialists in the Division and Code 105 to facilitate interrelated quality assurance programs. You will lead, develop, coordinate, monitor and administer investigations, audits, processes, and other quality assurance related organizational requirements. You will be responsible for setting long and short-term realistic quality assurance assessment program objectives that are responsive to corporate goals and priorities. You will be responsible for coordinating division training, ensuring all division personnel are scheduled for and complete training, medical appointments, and developmental courses determined by divisional management.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector developing, implementing, and assessing metrics and performance of nuclear systems maintenance.
